History

In 1996 a group of us went to the Ella Baker Center for technical support regarding a police abuse case. It was EBC 's first large campaign. Aaron Williams, an unarmed black man was killed by a San Francisco police officer. During the campaign a new youth movement began (Thirdeye Movement) as many of them took part in getting the bad cop fired. In an effort to resurrect that spirit, ONEFAM was born in Oakland.

The programs we offer are very good programs that relate to the needs of the community. Empowering under served communities to be empowered and organized.

“creating the change we want to see”

We believe in building up our community family first and nurturing the political and leadership development of our young people.  Building unity and power from within.
